How much weight can I lift?
All of the new heavy lift copters will have a payload of 12-20 pounds. You will be able to fly with a Red Epic, Canon 5D and similar cameras. We offer special camera mounts for all these cameras.
What is the range, how far can you go?
This varies from each platform. However when we are flying we always keep in line of sight.
What is the difference between the Hexa- and OktoKopter?
The main difference between Hexa- and Octocopter is the payload and number of motors – the Octocopter will be able to lift about 1 pound more than the HexaKopter. Additionally the Octocopter is still able to fly if up to 2 to engines or propellers should stop working.
How long does a Hexa/OktoKopter fly on one battery charge?
This really varies on the copter and the camera setup attached to it. We have found that flying an octocopter such as a Freefly Alta 8 with dual batteries and a payload of 12 lbs gives us about 12-18 minutes flight time. It all depends on the battery capacity you are using, the payload, and also how aggressive you are going to fly your copter. When mainly hovering, the copter will fly longer.
Realistically speaking both Hexa and Octocopters have the capability of flying 15-20 minutes with considerable camera equipment attached.
Can I fly with 2 batteries?
The Matrice 350 series, the Alta and Inspire platforms are designed to run on two batteries. The smaller systems run on one battery..
